Dear Catholic Republicans,
We may differ in opinions on certain issues, but listen to me.
When Pope Francis visited the Philippines especially because of Typhoon Haiyan, his core message was on compassion and mercy.
When I realized that many of you still deny the reality of climate crisis and the science behind it, I am disappointed.
When you deny the reality of this crisis which is man-made, I am forced to believe that you are far behind the principles of compassion and mercy.
However, beyond compassion and mercy is the admission of what human beings did to creation, what you have done to the rest of humanity.
When you deny the fact that human beings have been causing this crisis, and that God willed it – you deny the very existence of the ‘ruah’, the breathe of the Spirit, which gave humans freewill and the responsibility of ‘shamar’ and ‘abad’, to tend and to care.
Remember, whenever you decide and act for the sake of your nation, you also decide and act as Catholic with compassion and mercy and the responsibility to be stewards of creation, a universal task.
Stand for Veritas, stand with our Church Fathers, stand with St. Francis of Assisi, stand with St. John Paul II, stand with Pope Francis.
Speak for us more than a billion of Catholics around the world who are suffering from climate crisis and use that freewill and wisdom nurtured by the Holy Spirit in you.
I challenge you, if you are indeed a real Catholic, whatever your political party tells you, you must stand for justice.
Stand with us Senators Kelly Ayotte, Susan Collins, John Hoeven, Lisa Murkowski, Jim Risch, Mike Rounds, Marco Rubio, Dan Sullivan, Thom Tillis, Pat Toomey, and David Vitter.
I tell you solemnly, House Speaker John Boehner, you may disagree with us, through your leadership, but I challenge you to face the truth and stand with us.
When you all deny the reality of this crisis and fail to act on it, you deny the Spirit.
When you deny the fact that we have been given the freewill to take care of Creation – you deny this sacred duty.
When you deny to take on this sacred duty, you fail to care.
When you fail to care, you fail to love.
When you fail to love, you fail to follow Christ.
When you fail to follow Christ, you cease to stand in what you believe in.
On the Road to Paris towards December 2015, stand with us for a strong climate agreement.
Don’t fail us.
Dont’t fail Christ.
You still have FAITH.
