The issue of climate change is beyond political ideologies. When we start to tag actions as motivated by ideologies, we deny the fact that the people who joined clearly know that their lives and livelihoods are at stake, hence, the sustained and strong demand for survival. The drought in Mindanao, which is also experienced in other parts of the country, is comparable to extreme typhoons combined in a longer period of time but with a different face. It is slowly killing our farmers as pain develops in different stages. The worse is yet to come, but remember, climate change is beyond political philosophies as it is tangible as hard science. Let’s use political will to address the needs of the people and heed their call.
