Rodne Galicha, former country head of The Climate Reality Project Philippines, receives The Outstanding Young Men and Women (TOYM) award in environment and climate change education for 2018 from TOYM Search Committee National Chairman Mark Joseph David, TOYM Foundation President Bienvenido Tantoco III, JCI Philippines National President Rey Felix Rafols, TOYM Foundation Vice Chairman Lorenzo Tan and Board of Judges Chairman Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato dela Peña. Galicha was recognized for his staunch support of environmental causes and leadership in numerous climate organizations. He is vice chairman of Greenpeace Philippines, chair and president of Romblon-based cultural heritage and ecology group Bayay Sibuyanon, and one of the lead convenors of the Living Laudato Si movement for sustainable business investments and practices.

Genuine action to address ecological crisis does not only rely on the advancement of science and technology. The call for moral responsibility requires a moral imperative which is rooted in the relationship of humanity’s survival to the whole of nature.
